Publication Ethics

This declaration of the scientific code of ethics is a statement of the ethical standards that apply to all parties engaged in the publishing of this scientific journal, notably management, editors, bestari partners, and writers. The statement of the code of ethics for scientific publications is based on the Head of LIPI's Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which essentially upholds three ethical values in publications: I Neutrality, which means avoiding conflicts of interest in the management of publications; (ii) Justice, which means granting authorship rights.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Manager

  1. Determine the journal's title, scientific focus, frequency, and, if required, accreditation.
  2. Determine the editorial board's composition.
  3. Establishes the contractual connection between publishers, editors, review partners, and other contract parties.
  4. Respect confidentiality, both for contributors, authors, editors, and bestari partners.
  5. Adopt and enforce standards and regulations governing intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
  6. Conduct a policy review and distribute it to writers, the editorial board, reviewers, and readers.
  7. Make behavioral code guidelines available to editors and review partners.
  8. Regularly publish journals.
  9. Assuring the sustainability of journal publishing by ensuring the availability of funding sources.
  10. Establishing a cooperative and marketing network.
  11. Permits and other legal requirements are prepared.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Editor

  1. Meeting the reading and writing needs of both readers and writers.
  2. Continuously strive to improve the quality of publications.
  3. Establish procedures to ensure the quality of published articles.
  4. Objectively prioritizing freedom of expression.
  5. Maintain the author's academic integrity.
  6. When necessary, submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies.
  7. The writer is accountable for the style and format of the written work, but the author is accountable for the content and accuracy of all statements in the written work.
  8. Actively seek feedback from authors, readers, review partners, and editorial board members in order to improve the quality of publications.
  9. Encouraging an evaluation of the journal if any findings are made.
  10. By requiring authors to attach an Ethics Clearance form that has been approved by the Ethics Clearance Commission, you can help reduce community service and publication errors.
  11. Contribute to initiatives aimed at educating practitioners about publication ethics.
  12. Examining the effect of publication policies on author and reviewer attitudes and modifying them to increase accountability and reduce errors.
  13. Maintain an open mind to new perspectives or to the viewpoints of others that may conflict with your own.
  14. Not defending one's own views, those of other authors, or third parties, which may result in subjective decisions.
  15. Encouraging authors to improve their written work to the point where it is publishable.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Bestari Partner

  1. The editor assigned me to evaluate the written work and report the study's findings to the editor as material for evaluating the viability of publishing the written work.
  2. The reviewer may not conduct a review of a written work in which he or she is directly or indirectly involved.
  3. Maintain the author's privacy by not disclosing the outcomes of corrections, comments, and recommendations.
  4. Encouraging authors to enhance their work.
  5. Examining written material that has been revised in accordance with established criteria.
  6. The written work is evaluated promptly and in accordance with the publishing environment's style, while adhering to scientific standards (data collecting techniques, author's legality, conclusions, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities of the Author

  1. Ascertain that those listed in the list of authors satisfy the authorship requirements.
  2. Collectively accountable for the work and the article's substance are the techniques, analysis, computations, and details.
  3. Indicate the source of resources (including financing), whether they are obtained directly or indirectly.
  4. Describe the constraints of community service.
  5. Professionally and promptly respond to feedback given by bestari partners.
  6. Notify the editor if he intends to retract his authored work.
  7. Declare that the article submitted for publication is unique, has not been published anywhere in any language, and is not currently being considered for publication by another publisher.
